Battersea
I spent time today with other members of the Photographic Society wandering around Battersea Power Station and its immediate environment - the first time I have visited since it opened last year. The last time I visited was not long after it was decommisioned, when there was an opportunity to visit the empty shell of the building with little left but for the Control Rooms. It would be fun to find my photographs from that time for comparison with the current site, but that would involve searching through thousands of poorly organised slides, so that won't be happening in a hurry.
Inevitably, many of our little group will have taken very similar images, but there will also be a lot of individual, different images. At the risk of posting a similar blip to LesleyAlsford, the co-organiser of today's gathering, I have posted a classic view of the power station at dusk from the other side of the river.
If you look carefully, you can see the glass elevator poking out of the top of the chimney on the front right. At a price, you can ride in this to the top to be given a 360 degree view around London.
Edit: I have now added an album of photographs from the day on Flickr.
