Winter Woolies
The cows were milked for the last time this season before breakfast - I'm sure they will be overjoyed that they do not have to go into the cowshed again for a few months. After breakfast, we spent the rest of the morning inserting a tube of 'dry cow therapy' up each teat of the cow. Have a look at last year's blip, to find out more about this procedure.
After lunch, I went for a 6.34 km walk in the sun. I came across this wee Scottish Highlander, who was with its mother and father. It seemed rather shy, and was more interested in finding out where the rest of his family was, rather than me taking a photo.
Over the winter months, we are undertaking major alterations to our cowshed. Tomorrow, all the plant and equipment is being removed from it, and then over the next month, it is being extended from a 16 aside herringbone shed to a 24 aside shed. This will allow us to milk the cows a lot quicker, which of course means a lot less time in the cowshed each day. The plant is totally being replaced - it will be ultra flash! Over the next few weeks/months, I will blip the work in progress. It's all very exciting!
