Beauty in Rust
My lesson learned:
Beware of preconceived ideas. Keep an open mind.
For if I think of rust, I think of decay, peeling, unsightliness.
But when I look at rust, I can see beauty, variation, texture.
As an old adage declares: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
And I'd like to add, beauty is in the open-mindedness of the beholder.
I am aware that I am bombarded by images of "beauty,"
And wonder how much this biases my perception.
As I look at the world through my camera,
I am training myself to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.
