The most beautiful loch in Scotland
This is a very good benchmark of pace and fitness for me. It gives about 48k and over 400m of ascent.
I was blethering to hill walkers here for a good while, a couple from Edinburgh with two lovely spaniels and I didn't stop the clock. About 20 minutes longer than last week, all I can say is I thought I was making good progress when actually moving.
When meeting other hill walkers (and I was cycling today) in the wilderness I am always struck with how nice folk are. Passionate about their hobby, the environment and in this case, also the well being of their two dogs who seemed to be enjoying as much of their late lunch as them. We reflected on other mountains we had mutually walked and how easy you can run out of puff on long slogs. They were unaware of potential major hydro development at the very spot we were standing.
Like last week it was bitterly cold at the loch.
