Stormy Skies

D and I were meant to be going out for lunch with some friends who unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute. We decided to go into Cambridge and have some lunch anyway and D chose Parker’s Tavern at the University Arms Hotel. It’s a lovely venue and we had high hopes but unfortunately the food wasn’t great. We both had the Sunday roast which arrived at a tepid temperature, the potatoes were hard, the beef overcooked and the horseradish tasteless. Very disappointing but, being British, we smiled, nodded and said ‘lovely, thanks’ when the waitress asked us if everything was ok.
We had a nice time anyway and finished with a bit of shopping and a walk through the city.
