Two pheasant hens

There were actually three but one had moved out of the picture by the time I took this photograph through the kitchen window. They looked pretty young so they must have been this year's birds from the village shoot next door which mainly faces north so we get many of them coming over to enjoy the warmer sunnier side of the hill.

I have had a friend staying and we spent the day at Hilfield yesterday.  C and her dog returned home this morning.  In the afternoon I went to a concert in the local church given by Gregory Steward, an up and coming young tenor with his sister. They sang songs from the musicals as well as opera and were brilliant. The church was packed.
