Hard frost….

overnight stayed for much of the morning despite the warm sun. Combined with clear, still air ,colours were emphasised. Just a pair of Goldeneye disturbed the loch. A good walk round several lochans was delightful.
In the garden watched a pair of Collared Doves settle into last year’s nest, which I had thought was a Witches Broom in the Birch. Greenfinches were singing , quite a pleasant song compared to their usual creak. The Blackbird carolled from on high. He is a new songster this year. The one that has been here in a different tree for some years must have succumbed to old age.
