Is There A Chance?

We certainly hoped that there would be an opportunity for Pat to see The Northern Lights also known as the Aurora Borealis. Although Pat has lived in Scotland for over 40 years she has never seen the Northern Lights. I have seen them on several occasions, but I have never had a camera with me. I have even flown over them!

According to the Aurora Pro App the chances were low owing to extensive cloud cover over Scotland.

Nevertheless, we decided to take a chance by driving to Aberlemno.  The views from there are almost panoramic and cover many many square miles of Scotland.

The air was clear, but the fog was persistent. There was an unusual green glow to the clouds, but there was no break in the cloud.

We headed for home via Glamis and Meigle, but still no break in the clouds. Sightings were recorded to the far north and to the south.
