Wildfire aftermath....

Over on Canvey this morning and we popped into the West Canvey Marsh RSPB reserve, which was extremely badly hit by wildfires in the heat of last Summer, and has only recently reopened.   

And a very bleak scene it was with very little wildlife about.  A few geese were on the fields, and some magpies and the odd robin were about in the remains of the burnt out trees and shrubs but it was just sad to see all the blackness and dead vegetation.  They have started to clear certain areas but it's going to take some time before it's all done and life starts returning.

Just a walk to the Post Office this afternoon to return some clothes I bought online, and the sizing was all off! Oh for the days when you could go to a shop and try things on!!
