Unbelievable pink and blue!
I had already decided to visit Heligan today, to see if their huge and ancient magnolia was in blossom. And last night it was featured, in blossom, on the local 6.30 tv news programme. But when I checked the website I saw that Heligan was closed, both for yesterday AND today, for ‘staff training’. It used to boast that it only closed for two days a year.
I remembered a magnolia in Sea Road, at the very posh end of St Austell. So I went to find it. Although the sea is visible from where the tree is, it wasn’t possible to get the tree and the sea in one photo. I haven’t ‘enhanced’ or edited the photos in any way - the colours were amazing. The photo doesn’t show how COLD it was!
Update - I just checked and I see I blipped the Heligan magnolia on Feb 27th a year ago.
