A cold day. The car thermometer read 8°C when I went out in the afternoon but by the lake at Bowness it felt much colder. I didn’t walk far or take many photos before heading home to put the heating on and snuggle under my fleece blanket.

Highlights of the day were from the morning. The first of my daffodils is in flower and I bought a pack of two avocados reduced to half price in Tesco.

The photo features a juvenile gull but I’ve looked through my three bird books and cannot say with any confidence what type of gull.
