Rivalry at the sunflower feeder

All the garden birds seem very hungry at the moment. They're probably preparing their nests and getting ready to lay eggs. The bird song is getting louder and more varied.

I saw a great spotted woodpecker eating ravenously on this feeder earlier in the day. There is a distinct hierarchy with the tits at the bottom, chaffinches as outsiders and goldfinches prepared to have a go at any birds to protect their feeding position.
