Mr and Mrs Swan

This pair of swans has been nesting on the edge of the Munnoch dam near Dalry for a few years now. We see them while we're driving backwards and forwards to work. Every year they hatch out a brood of about 7 little ones but unfortunately, one by one, the cygnets are picked of by the mink who also skulk around here. It's heartbreaking every year to see the little ones become a little independent and then disappear one by one. Every year we hope that this will be the year at least some survive. Fingers crossed!
