Breath of Fresh Air

Oh glorious nature! What a marvellous day you gave us. I know I mentioned we were going to the Roaches today. We almost did. Instead of going up the Roaches we continued beyond them to a little magical place called Lud's Church. It's an area of the earth that splits open into a deep recess, a crevasse, where one can walk through it and pretend they are in middle earth.

We did this. It was peaceful. Quiet. Cool. Refreshing. Also it was deep in the countryside. If only I could live here!! You can stand on top of the hills and see Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire all in one eyeful. I'm glad we got today. Tomorrow will be spent mostly indoors and/or on trains. These nature escapes never last as long as they should....
