Broad Walk

Another cross country run this afternoon, this time at Whitlingham Country Park on the edge of Norwich. The park lies alongside the River Yare & has its own Broad (AKA lake - it's Norfolk - & it's the stretch of water shown in the photo). We took S for a walk beforehand - dogs aren't allowed in the race & the poor lad had to stay in the car while we ran through meadows, up & down steep slopes through the woods & back along the Broad, twice.

The path alongside the Broad is part of the long-distance Wherryman's Way which runs from Norwich to Great Yarmouth, along the Yare, & the sculpture depicts the sails of the wherries which used to ply their trade along the river.
