Down Memory Lane

Had a walk along a road that was a favourite pub crawl route for a good few years back in the 70s and 80s. The university campus and art college are towards one end and it was always a busy Saturday night in the pubs and later the Students Union.
These posters are on the walls of a closed pub which has had so many incarnations that I’m sure it will reopen again soon. Seeing the posters reminded me of when empty advertising hoardings would have signs saying ‘Bill posters will be prosecuted’ and someone would scrawl underneath ‘but what if he’s innocent?’
