Alzheimer's Clematis
The long(?) awaited flower above the purple leaf. The flower should be solid purple, but it traded some of its color for the green of the leaf. You can see the leaf and two flowers, BOTH flowers and leaf are from the same main vine (about 6 inches apart).
My theory is that the hybrid is "breaking down" or that the flower (and/or) leaf suffered some sort of trauma to cause the green switch.
I think maybe the purple hybrid was created from the pink ytpe of flower originally.
Maybe I could somehow create a green flower, given enough generations?
I plan to press the flower and leaf under glass to save them.
