Roping In The Viking Waves, Broadstairs
I had a day off today (yahoo!) so me and my brother decided to go on a micro trip to the seaside and we chose to go back to Broadstairs. The weather did not look good when we set off as there were dark, glowering clouds and on and off drizzle. However, as we drew into Broadstairs and parked the car the sun suddenly appeared and the glorious sandy beach of Viking Bay looked absolutely stunning (see first extra).
The main image was taken from quite high up on some steep, seaweed festooned steps. Luckily, the sun filtered through the clouds and highlighted the waves created by the strong breeze. After our shortish walk we went for lunch at the marvellously named Tartar Frigate pub right on the harbour, where we had a ham sandwich and chips washed down with a cold beer - lovely! We then took a few more images (see my other extras) before having an ice cream each from Morelli's high up on the cliff. We had a bloody great time!
