At the beach
Our last full day. I wasn't sure when renting the mobility scooter if it would be able to manage the slope down to and up from the beach, but it turns out that it managed just fine. The route is by way of a series of turns down a winding, twisting road called Avenida Alféreces Provisionales. We're more than familiar with it from previous trips, and it was looking at its best today.
We spent a while at the main plaza that overlooks the magnificent beach and along the boardwalk that runs parallel to the coast. The scooter did great both down and back (it's visible parked in the first extra). Back at home territory I made a stop to snap the Buenos Aires hotel for old times sake. This is where I stayed several times back in the late '80s and early '90s when I'd time my annual leave leading up to the extended Christmas break, meaning that I'd have most of December off work and three wonderful weeks in Playa del Inglés. It's changed a lot since then. It's got more sophisticated, it's less rowdy, it's impeccably clean – and most of all, "in those days" the Yumbo Centre was still just a (very big) hole in the ground.
After a siesta, we returned to Mirimar restaurant for our final meal of the holiday and ended the day quietly with a film on Netflix.
