Cables

It is nearly 9 pm and I have not taken a photo all day. My visitor ,Janet, is knitting baby clothes and I am knitting an Aran , so here is a shot of some cables. They look complicated but are really very easy to do.
When I was 12 , I ended up in Greenock hospital with a gangrenous appendix. An ambulance took me from home to the pier and I was put on a bench at the back of the lounge with a curtain around. Then another ambulance was waiting at Wemyss Bay. Quite an adventure. I stayed in hospital for quite a few weeks. The lady in the next bed had polio and was often in terrible pain! But when her painkillers were helping she taught me to knit and then to cable. I have knitted ever since.
