A Dorset Gem

It was a beautiful day, so after lunch in the garden, we took our visitors down into deepest Dorset to Minterne Gardens, where the azaleas and rhodedendrons were putting on a brilliant display. It is a woodland garden, set in a small valley surrounded by the most gorgeous countryside, with sheep grazing on the hills at the edge of the garden. Delightful ornamental bridges lead the walker through paths lined with ferns unfolding, frittilleries and bluebells. The small lake lies just below the house, and the vistas through the trees are often breathtaking.
So we had a great time!
