Quite some time ago we started to rearrange the study, and the resultant plan involved some new shallow shelves. As none of the MDF-and-Melamine suppliers has anything suitable then I reverted to type and prepared to make some. At least this way they'll have some wood content and be capable of taking load.

In typical Bodge & Quibble style you need to buy more than necessary to get enough usable bits of timber. Even the ostensibly straight bits here are twisted and splitting. As it happens I've managed to design around the worst of the timber trauma, and the structure is currently sitting under many kg of toolboxes to keep it square until the glue sets.
