Is there a quiet man?

First of all thank you so much to all of you who left such lovely comments on my 10 years of blip yesterday.   The picture  of my Dad is at no. 3 on the popular pages.  He will be very pleased when I tell him.

So.  On to today.  Its gone very cold this afternoon so we have been watching some TV in the warm.  We have just watched the John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara 1952 version of "The Quiet Man"
What a mix of styles!  Very strange, funny and a thought provoking picture of the position of women in that society, the role of the Church, violence.  And some great music!
