A happy day

This is a late posting.

A happy day

Up at 6am, on the road at 6:10am, but still didn’t beat the rush hour traffic.  Despite that, we managed to put the open home signs up and return home by 7:30am.  We settled down to a leisurely breakfast and were just about to make coffee when we got a call from our Napier friends to say they’d arrive at 9:30am for coffee.  Good timing!  We spent an entertaining hour and a half together, catching up with each other’s news and having a lot of laughs. It was fun!

Later, I went to my Pilates class, then changed quickly at the studio and met MrMacD on the bus into the city.  We had a meeting at 3:30pm, our journey was very smooth and we arrived in plenty of time, meaning we were able to take in the views from the 32nd floor.  Wonderful!  We had a very good meeting while enjoying a glass of wine (a Friday afternoon perk) and still taking in the wonderful views.  We finished at 5pm then wandered over to the Viaduct Harbour/Wynyard Quarter area for a meal at Thai Street, a favourite of ours, followed by an ice cream at Gelatiamo, where we spent some time people watching. Always an interesting thing to do.  We then made our way to the ASB Waterfront Theatre to watch the play The Heartbreak Choir.  It was very funny, but with a sad twist.  I thoroughly enjoyed it, MrMacD not quite so much.  It didn’t finish until after 10:30pm, so we were very late home, hence the late post.

The bus stopped right by the So/ Hotel, so I cheekily went inside and took a photo of the wonderful chandelier in the reception area, then one of the two lions guarding the entrance area.  The third photo is of a piece of artwork in the Vero building.
