Take Off
I was planning to go to Hogganfield Loch today to see if I could get some blips of the Great Crested Grebes.
It was a miserable morning and I was still worried about Annie, then I got a call from Sally, Annie's daughter to say that Annie would like me to come and visit her. I was so glad to hear that as yesterday she had been adamant she didn't want visitors yet.
As the Loch isn't too far off my route to Wishaw, I stopped off and did get some Grebes shots (I'll put some in my Blipfolio later)
The WBC challenge had been far from mind the last few days, but since Annie had managed an entry this week, I couldn't let the side down. So my juvenile gull taking off into flight will be my entry!
As I drove down to Wishaw, I was quite anxious that I would burst into tears as I was not quite sure how I would find Annie.
I am so relieved to say she looked great, very tired but in a flower filled ground floor room with a view (of the grounds and railway bridge). Daughter Katie was there and John came in after a while. Katie reports that Annie is much more alert than yesterday, and we had a lovely time. I saw the lovely card with the picture of Shadow from BikerBear and the sweet card from HillyBlips among the many other cards that have arrived so far.
It is still early days for Annie, but she has taken some pictures and is determined to manage to take more.
So for the first time I have to admit, I got help with the WBC challenge, Annie gave this shot the thumbs up!
Annie and John would like everyone to know they have been so touched by the many messages of support, you are a wonderful bunch!
For anyone who subscribed to my journal thinking I was a pukka bird blipper look here and here and here too!
