What a smashing day! Three Hobblers and an Honorary Hobbler set off northwards early doors for our weekend away with two more Hobblers joining us later.

Thank you to WilsdenWalker for taking on the driving. We paused at Northumberlandia, picnicked in the car because it was bitingly cold and then had a brisk walk around the recumbent woman herself, seen in the background of my blip, before continuing here to Amble. We took a walk around the town and then along the coast towards Warkworth, spotting curlews, oystercatchers and wigeons, and three deer playing in a field across the estuary.

Back at the cottage friends had arrived and the champagne was poured to toast Sally’s 50th birthday, then we were off to Jaspers tiny, cosy restaurant for a delicious meal.

It’s well past midnight now and Parkrun in the morning, then a fun day planned, so I guess I should get some sleep!
