A new thorn emerges...

This cactus started as a tiny guy and is now over a foot high. It has 5 lobes. The thorns spiral around it. The little thorns emerge sequentially at the top, 1 lobe at a time, 1 thorn at a time. Eventually, this thorn will become a complex of 5 big thorns and a bunch of lilttle ones. There are also some growth lines visible. The whiter areas are from last winter and fall in the green house. The brighter area is all since the plants came out of the greenhouse in mid-April.
