WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT THEM!
Hello Lovely Blippers,
As it’s a special Silly Saturday, Mrs. HCB thought it might be a good idea to go out to a nearby playground and let us have a play on the climbing frame and the ropes. We were a bit concerned because some of us had never been to a playground before, but she said it would be fine, so we went along with it. We were very cost at home and we thought a good play would warm us up, because it is very cold outside today - in fact, you can see that Mr. HCB looks “shrammed”, which is what we say in these ‘ere parts when someone is “shrivelled with cold”.
It wasn’t very far from where the HCBs live and just as we all got out of the car, a man came along who obviously knew them. It was Keith, an old friend, whom they hadn’t seen for sometime, so when he asked what they were doing, and they said that they were going to let us have a play on the climbing frame, he said that he would join us. Actually, it was a good job he did, because we couldn’t have got up as high as we did without Keith’s help - and of course, Mr. HCB helped too with Mrs. HCB just wandering around taking photographs as she does.
We were very fortunate that there weren’t many children about, because they might have got in our way, and that would have been silly - after all what is a playground for? Actually, Mrs. HCB has just reminded us that playgrounds are for children so we guess it was silly for us all to be there! However, a couple of children came along and knocked one or two of us off the frame, but no-one was hurt, thank goodness.
I daresay if anyone saw us they would have thought that we looked very silly, but we aren’t that bothered, and especially on the first Saturday of each month, this is done in loving memory of dear Admirer, who started up the whole Silly Saturday thing.
We were very fortunate, because after we had finished playing and climbing, Keith asked if we would like to go to his house, which was just around the corner, for a cup of coffee, which we said would be great. However, Mr. and Mrs. HCB left us in the car, which was rather unkind, but now we are back home, we are having hot chocolate and marshmallows, so we will forgive them. We know that Mr. and Mrs. HCB were sad that Keith's wife, Sue, wasn't there, but we understand he looked after them very well.
We hope you all have a great week - stay safe and warm - we understand it may snow next week - bring it on!
Love from The Silly Saturday Gang xxx
