Spring by the canal

Haven’t been on the canal for a while so we parked by the bridge at The Fisherman Inn to do the short circuit of the Leeds - Liverpool canal and the River Aire taking in Roberts Park at Saltaire.
No problem walking today as it was dry with no wind and forecast as the best day of the weekend before a very cold week to come, but I’d forgotten about Park Runs on Saturday morning so when we got to the Half Moon Cafe for a coffee it was packed and we had to sit outside. By the time Chris got out with the coffees I was throughly chilled and it took the whole return walk along the river to warm up again.
I had hoped for something for Silly Saturday but it seems the only silly thing was stopping for a warm drink.

Lots of spring flowers to be enjoyed and the river side willows are starting to show green but Spring still feels very far away in this cold.

Good to get out but quite glad to be back home for a Saturday bacon butty!
