Washing the hooves

Apparently in our province Zeeland it is a long standing tradition for beach rides with horses early in spring. They have been in the stable all winter and need to wash their hooves in the sea. Unfortunately we were at the wrong part of the beach, so we missed seeing the ride in the sea. But we did get to see the beautifully adorned horses.
