REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

Reasons to be Cheerful are many
That certain Spring feeling
The darting birds
with twigs in their beaks.
The morning light
The rise from slumber
Stretching out from our ennui.

The anticipation of our Birth
- I didn’t say rebirth
We can choose complete renewal
To walk away from what lies behind
To divest ourselves from past mistakes
and things unsaid.

The colour of our palette
Rests with us alone
And Spring is our reminder
That dark shades and hues must exist
To be overcome by the exuberance
of the natural world

Reasons to be cheerful
Are our choice
And like the joyful birds
Who build new nests every year
We can allow ourselves to start again.

Such a beautiful day today. A real Spring one.

I heard some great poems today; in the open air; with the greenery of the park and the backdrop of the bluey mountains and the daffs nodding at us.

You would have to feel a flutter of happiness
