Knitting challenge!
I think I mentioned a while back that I had challenged the Gibbs family to produce a piece of knitting, and had shared out my many random balls of wool. Today Dan joined us for Sunday dinner with his girlfriend Viki, and astounded us all when he not only told us, but showed us he has started knitting. Having been taught by Viki and her mum, he has made good progress with his 'book mark'. We were all impressed, and the challenge really is on for Henry to learn now. Mollie and I need to decide what we are going to make, and Jon has decided what, he has wool and pattern, but is yet to start.
So apart from the knitting, we had a nice family lunch together, and it was especially nice to meet Viki. I hope we seemed quite normal and welcoming. We had a few laughs remembering things the kids did when they were younger. It is so nice to get them all together. Everyone seemed to have some funny memories. It generated some laughs, and with the prosecco some red cheeks too. We don't get enough laughing time. Always good!
Dan and Viki headed off just before us. We have left Mollie and Henry with the remaining washing up and a polite request to go and feed the chicken. We are on our way to Hoddesdon, as I type. Jon's uncle's funeral is tomorrow, rescheduled from February. So we are going to stay over at mums tonight.
The drive never gets any quicker...2 hours to go.
