Jess and I walked the Brown trail at Mabie Forest early this morning. Lots of signs of Spring - the larches had wee flowers appearing and I saw a pair of Spotted Woodpeckers chasing each other through the trees. Lots of wild garlic in the woods, too.

I stopped at the garden centre on the way home to buy some compost and was going to start some seeds off this afternoon, but after looking at the weather forecast, I have decided to delay for a week. It's apparently going to be -6 here on Tuesday night! D is making plans for some ice paintings at the back door. We had a bit of drizzle later on - the first rain for weeks.

Jess is drying herself in front of the fire now. She doesn't know it, but after tea she is off on a wee mini break :-)
