Another trip into the country
Today we were invited to lunch with some friends of Y&D whom I'd met a couple of times before. We were taken to Three Bridges Pub - an hour's drive over some of the most awful roads. The potholes were so deep that even the Land Rover struggled and sitting in the rear it was decidedly uncomfortable!
The meal was interesting and very tasty - I had a chicken and mango salad wrap with a side salad - scrumptious! Lovely to catch up with Nico and Alice and hear all their news.
I loved the palm tree with all the decorations - looks like Christmas baubles but are weaver nests.
The trip home was equally as bumpy and uncomfortable. I'm really not sure how 'ordinary' low slung vehicles manage these roads and I'd hate to do it either at night or in heavy rain.
We took some food into the game park this afternoon and saw two of the crocs. Have not see the newly born sable again yet so hope it is okay.
Last night we managed to get stuck - the roads are so soggy from all the rain and we feel into a 'rut' which we could not get out of in spite of the 4 - wheel drive and had to phone Yvonne to come and tow us out! Thankfully tonight we managed to do the trip without getting bogged down again!
Apologies again for not dropping by - hopefully tomorrow will be at home so I might be able to visit your journals.
