The chip wars

We all remember the toilet paperll crisis, early in the pandemic. Empty shelves, early morning queues, limits per customer, shoppers fighting over the last packet.
 
Now it seems it has been happening with frozen chips. The immediate cause seems to have been bad weather where they grow the potatoes that turn into frozen chips. I daresay the Covid-related staff shortages and supply chain issues have played a part as well.
