New aids

New NHS hearing aids fitted today. I've been wearing aids for ten years, but hadn't had them updated for 5 years (which is a long time aid-wise). Standard issue and very good. I can even control the settings from my mobile if I want to. Have they made a difference? You bet!  I said "YOU BET!!"

I have no difficulty with people knowing/seeing that I wear aural assistance devices, any more than I mind them seeing that I wear spectacles. There is undoubtedly an image issue with hearing aids. Part of the problem is that they don't lend themselves to becoming an image accessory in the way spectacles do.
