FUTURE PINECONES

While photographing geese at a nearby pond, I happened to get a pine bough into the foreground without realizing it. Of course the camera focused on the closest thing (the pine bough), and the geese were but a blur in the background. (In a different shot.) That's the only reason I paid any attention to this cluster of baby pinecones. I had never noticed how they look in the 'bud' stage. They seemed interesting enough to be my blip for today, so I paid a bit more attention to zeroing in on just one cluster with the 'close up' feature.
