Magnificent frigatebird

I always love seeing these sea-dragons flying effortlessly along the beach or soaring over the sea. Where we are staying there are always a few in the air along with turkey vultures and the occasional crested caracara. This afternoon there were at least 30 circling over the coastal hills.

Their main source of food is fish snatched from other birds, or from trawlermen, but I've never seen one catch or eat anything, they seem to just spend all day on the wing hoping for a meal. They must do OK because they seem quite abundant in tropical areas.
