Oamaru
We had an early start this morning as our coach from Dunedin to Oamaru left at 7:30am. Fortunately we only had a five minute walk to get to the bus stop. It is definitely much colder down in Otago than in Auckland, but it was very cosy on the bus. We arrived in Oamaru just after 9am and our first stop was for scrambled eggs and coffee. We then spent the day wandering around talking to people (they’re very friendly) and, our favourite occupation, looking at houses. It’s always interesting to imagine what they must be like inside and to admire the gardens. We went out to find somewhere to have supper and were very surprised that the first two places we tried were full, which is very good for them given it’s a Tuesday night in a small town. We managed to get a table at the third place we tried, which goes by the wonderful name of Fat Sally’s. It’s now time for an early night.
I am way behind responding to comments and dipping into journals. I will catch up when I can.
Somehow I only managed to take one photo today - of the SteamPunk HQ.
