Cloud on the tops
Walkin with the "B" team and our all powerful leader acyclinggranny had decided that we would explore a new walk in the area to "The Emerald Bluffs" which for those who kno the area are past Glendhu Bay. In spite of The Boss's phone dire weather warnings from Sunday(some drizzle) the morning cloud cover burnt off and I was delighted to find the new track dog friendly and even kinda fun as it incorporated two stream crossings on gigantic stepping stones which were almost suitable for a horse so were a piece of Denta Stick for a dog like me. We had another dog along today "Max" who was a Spoodle I think but just a Pup and he wanted to go completely mad all the time. We were adjacent to farm property and The Boss wouldn't let me off to sort him out so I had to put up with repeated 'dive bombing' behaviour until his owner got the message and things returned to order.
This is a grrreat walk, about a Km but the property owner has done a truly wonderful job and we would recommend this to all visitors. It was not really long enough to work up a proper appetite for lunch (Theirs NOT mine) so we tacked a bit on the end at West Wanaka. The Boss and acyclinggranny were burning through the pixels but crunch time came as we were returning and The Boss's phone redeemed itself for the poor forecast by producing this in the Panorama mode.
The view is Glendhu Bay with the back view of the Roy Range in the background. And that's The Boss in the bottom corner standing on a concrete post.
