Pyramids of Giza, Cairo

We arrived late last night and woke this morning to a distant view of the Pyramids.  The new Great Egyptian Museum (GEM) is opposite our hotel but alas it still isn't open.  After breakfast we negotitated a fare with a taxi driver to take us the few miles to the Pyramids, the last remaining wonder of the ancient world.  Built almost 4000 years ago, the site is incredible.

In the evening we returned to the area to have a 'posh' dinner at The Mosque Room in the Mena House Hotel, a treat from my Dad.  We had the most wonderful view of the Pyramids at sunset over dinner.
