with a cold wind at times, mostly pleasant when walking in the sunshine.

The sunlight on the reeds and hillside looked appealing, showing several walls, one descending the hillside. It must have been hard work to build those walls on a hill.
Jack was playing this morning, he too likes a warm spot to lounge and play.
