Goosander

Today my husband and I walked to the Duntreath Ponds for the first time this year. There were 2 pairs of goosanders. This female was rushing off on a mission of some sort.. I was pleased to see our resident swans are still there. there.along with the last one of last years's cygnets. It is almost as big as the adults but still has beautiful softly muted plumage. see the extras. It will leave soon to join one of the flocks of juveniles swans down on the Clyde. I think it will go when the adults start nesting. There were also a pair of Canada geese.
