Olhos D’Agua

We took the open top bus tour today which takes you out along the coast in one direction to Salgados then back in the other to Vilamoura.

We hopped off at the tiny resort of Olhos D’Agua for a wander and a drink. It is known for the tiny springs which appear at low tide and give it its name which means “Eyes of Water”.

These figures on the beach caught my eye.

It has a small beach and smaller fishing fleet still. The extra shows some of the fishermen’s huts which were very much still in use.

Both Salgados and, mor famously, Vilamoura boast fine golf courses. Vilamoura is like a small city with 5 amazingly manicured courses, numerous swanky hotels and some impressively expensive looking villas. I certainly would love to play one of the courses but with green fees between 130 and 180 euros for a round the cost is enough to make your eyes water!
