Wild Cherry

The wild cherry blossom really stands out at this time of year, and looks resplendent amongst the bare branches of the other shrubs and trees.

It was clear blue skies first thing so I went for a short walk around Risley Moss. The extra is a part of the mini moss, which is near the visitor centre and separate from the main moss. A lot of work has been undertaken over the winter with drainage reengineering and the creation of new pools. It is going to be fascinating to see how these pools and the currently bare peaty banks surrounding them green up over coming months and years.
