Eyesores

Ugly developments like this are going up all over Seattle, cramming identical three story homes with no curb appeal into tiny plots of land, the goal being to cram as many units into the space so as to maximize profit.  They are so ubiquitous that whole new neighborhoods now contain nothing but these homes.  We need a lot of new housing here, but this is not the way to do it.

I passed this particular development, which continues down the side street, on my way to Trader Joe's after I did my labs.  Trader Joe's has not changed at all since my last visit there in 2020.  As usual I bought more than I had expected, but it was hard to resist the really fresh, well-priced produce, the cheap pasta, and the prepared foods.  I bought some chickpea salad that Lex had recommended and their hummus dip, something tangy to mix with the boring everyday hummus I've been getting.  Trying out the chickpea salad when I got home, I found it very good if too spicy, and I think that if I can blot off some of the dressing the sodium content may be okay.  I would buy it again.

Tomorrow is my EPO shot and finally a visit to my ophthalmologist for my annual diabetes eye check.  I can tell my vision has gotten worse, but I'm hoping that's just aging.
