Sounding Off!
Although there are yellow weathering warnings covering many parts of the DUK, the anticipated snow did not arrive. Sure there was the odd snowflake or sphere of hail, but the sun shone and the sky remained blue.
We enjoyed lunch with AC and JC before heading off to have dinner with Herr Doktor HJB.
Today’s Blipfoto is taken in HJB’s shower room. The remarkable charcoal drawing of a saxophone is appropriate for those who appreciate lavatorial humour.
After dinner we headed back to Fife up the A9 and then to Dundee before crossing the Tay Road Bridge.
The car was already registering an outside temperature of -5C The roads were completely dry and grip is in abundance.
And now to Sound Off. Traffic moving north on the A9 was travelling at about 11 m.p.h. It continued to do so all the way to the Broxden Roundabout near Perth, a distance of 23 miles covered in 65 minutes.
We could see the slow moving queue of read brake lights headed by blue flashing lights and yellow flashing lights. The procession never actually stopped but it could slow down and slightly speed again. Everyone in this procession drove with great consideration and forbearance.
Pat and I decided it must be a wideload convoy probably carrying a large bridge component for use on some of roadworks on the A9 north of Perth.
All good fun! It would have been helpful if the electronic signboards carried a message explaining the reason for the convoy.
