the underpass

today was hot. we joined everyone else in Moscow wandering around. we 'did' stary and nova arbat and then refuelled with pizza headed down to the river and church of christ the saviour before sauntering back around the boulevard.

everywhere was lovely and green and the tulips, although coming to the end, still look magnificent.

most of the major roads in moscow are at at least 6 lanes wide and so much the safest way to cross is to use the underpasses. most of the ones we used today were bustling with people crossing from one side to the other or bartering with kiosk owners.

I'm not quite sure therefore why this busker chose this underpass - it is the one by our nearest supermarket and I have yet to see more than one person using it at a time.

Maybe he just likes the peace.
