goodnight!

this is the view from the van door on our inaugural trip out - we walked up hill 501 - or that's its height - the through road had been re-marked as no through road so we parked and walked and found the path through the forest - blocked at every turn by fallen trees - so it was like jungle walking and just as slow! the summit proved to have a good trig and we made our way back the long way until we found a decent firebreak to descend. next stop - Hawes to buy cheese and look at the bikes before finding a good spot to camp. we had 2 german neighbours and an old bus with a wood burning stove for company. watching the light fade l opted for this blip - goodnight!
