Gardens and flowers
We did a lot more walking around today, the best part being the Oamaru Public Gardens. They are really beautiful and diverse. There was even an aviary with a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo who entertained us for a few minutes. There was also a greenhouse, which was full of the most beautiful begonias of all different colours. We found a lovely gift shop in the Victorian Quarter, which had some lovely items all made by New Zealand artisans, and spent some time wandering around admiring and talking to the very nice shop assistant.
We decided not to go to dinner at Restaurant 1861 at Casa Nova House. My tummy was still a little upset, so I bought some Imodium, took a couple of tablets and by bedtime it seemed to have worked.
I am still way behind responding to comments and dipping into journals. There’s just been no spare time, so I will catch up when I can.
The penguin in the main blip was spotted outside a shop in the Victorian Quarter. The sculpture and the Humpty Dumpty were in the Oamaru Public Gardens, the first building is, we think, the Council offices and the building with the pink lighting is the Opera House. The flowers in the extra were all taken on our way to the Oamaru Public Gardens.
